Rozhodnou se po delší době opět vrátit do Žďáru oznámit novinu rodičům Martiny Lukešovým (Simona Stašová a Miroslav Táborský), ale stane se neočekávaná věc V prvním díle se poprvé potkáváme s novými hrdiny. Místostarostka Petra Janatová (Anna Šišková) musí řešit složitý úkol s obyvateli satelitního městečka. Současně netuší, že její manžel advokát Janata (Jan Hrušínský) má milenku a už vůbec nepředpokládá, že by se s ní mohl rozejít. Dalším novým hrdinou je otec novináře Kadlece (Luděk Munzar). Vedle hlavních postav se můžeme těšit i na další oblíbené tváře – protřelého podnikatele Václava Rokytu (Tomáše Hanáka), jeho ženu (Petru Jungmanová), svérázného policistu Šrédra (Bohumil Klepl) či starostu Tichotu (Jaromír Dulava).
